Quiet until the Election
Friday, October 17th, 2008It’s been awhile since I’ve written…definitely been remiss but, basically it’s been because I’m not sure what to tell you. Right now the market all over Fairfield and Westchester county is very quiet.I was at a luncheon yesterday for the top 30 brokers in Westchester and Fairfield County and from many conversations I had it appears what’s happening in Westport and Weston is the same as Greenwich, Darien,Scarsdale etc. There are sales but, just a few a month.Everyone also seem to be in agreement that there are buyers out there but, they are waiting….possibly till after the election . We did have a big sale this month on Saugatuck ave, direct waterfront redo, listed price $10,950,000.I did have a builder client who attempted to put a offer in on a beautiful piece of property in Weston and was told it already had an accepted offer. The land was only on for a couple of weeks. Now true just a year ago it would have had a bidding war the same day it came on the market, now it was on for a few days but, still we lost out.And as quiet as it is I do have a showing this afternoon on my fabulous listing on Prestigious Michael’s Way in Weston for $2,999,999. This custom home has a gourmet kitchen, with a La Cornue stove, copper and mahogany counters,7 fireplaces. So hopefully, I will have some more good news to report in future postings.Enjoy the beautiful fall weekend!!! judy
